Ski-Doo Rev-XP Update
Greetings from Las Vegas. After the spring dealer meeting tour, Mindy is threatening to change my title to PDMA, for Professional Dealer Meeting Attendee. I have to admit with two meetings down and two to go I've already had my fill of hotel food. Given what we've seen from Yamaha and Ski-Doo, it will be interesting to see what Cat and Polaris have in store. I'm headed to Minneapolis tomorrow night to see what the boys from Thief River have in store and Polaris is supposed to release some info on the new 800 Dragon next week.
Anyway, the earlier post on the Rev-XP contains a lot of the tech info about the new sled, but there are some details that we didn't know until the meeting. The Summits will come in two varieties next year, the Everest (which is the new name of the Adrenalines on the XP platform) and the X models. The Everest is the in-season model which will come with either a 154" or 146" track. One interesting note on the tracks - the new Ski-Doo track and the Polaris track are actually the same pitch and the Polaris 155" and the Ski-Doo 154" track are actually the same length. The actual track length is supposedly about 154.5". The Xs will be available with 146", 154", and 163" tracks, all with 2.25" lugs.
Additionally, the X Packages add:
* HPG take-apart aluminum bodied shocks
* Rev-XP racing seat
* Premium gauge package
* Low windshield
* Lightweight parts
Here are the highlights on the new Summits, along with the MSRP.

The Spring Fever promotion is similar to what we've seen the past couple of seasons. As usual, the only sure way to get an X is to order it on the Spring Fever, as we are not allow to order any Xs for stock. Customers who order an X will get to take their choice of a free Rev-XP jacket, free 2nd year engine coverage, or a free electric starter. For those folks that order a Fan, Adrenaline, or Everest package sled, they'll take two of the following options: A $200 rebate (advertised as $350 in gear), free 2nd year engine coverage, a free electric starter, or a free Rev-XP jacket. If you're interested in ordering one, please give us a call and we'll share our Xtremely Aggressive Spring pricing. Remember, the sooner you order, the sooner you'll get your new sled in the fall. With as many as we expect to have ordered, being at the front of the line could prove valuable, especially if we get good snow early next fall.
Obviously as the guys who sell the most Ski-Doos in the area, we are extremely excited about the new chassis and the potential that this weight/horsepower combination represents. There are still some outstanding issues that we're working with BRP on resolving with the new engine and clutch, but I'm confident that the Ski-Doo engineers will have a great solution and that the 2008 sleds will work very well. At this point, we've ridden the sled quite a bit in varying conditons and as usual in the hills, getting the weight down makes the sled more fun and required less effort to ride it. We are also going to experiment with a few setup changes this spring and next fall for those folks who would like to ride a Ski-Doo that tips over a bit easier than the stock setup allows. As I said in the earlier post, the new chassis is still a bit more stable than the Dragon or the M series, which works really well for a lot of riders. However, for those who like to spend all day on one ski, we'll see what we can come up with.
If you'd like to take a look at the new sled, don't forget the show is next Monday night (March 12) at the Ramada on 120th and I-25. We'll also be on Rabbit Ears the following weekend (March 17th and 18th) if you'd like to ride the prototype and compare it with the other offerings on the market.
Thanks,
Donavon
